Connect is the legal employer. Your business is the host employer, providing meaningful, supervised experience in the real work environment.

We manage recruitment, onboarding, payroll, employment administration and training coordination. We also stay close to the apprentice and your team through mentoring, performance support and practical check-ins.

The result is a clearer division of responsibility: your team can focus on teaching the trade and getting the work done, while Connect keeps the employment and development program moving.

Where we come from

Built from industry, not theory.

Connect Group grew from hands-on workforce and recruitment capability across civil construction, mining and infrastructure. That experience expanded into apprenticeships, registered training and site services.

Our GTO operates as a focused, standalone service while drawing on broader group knowledge when it adds value. We understand project pressures, site realities and the difference between filling a role and developing a capable person.

Chris Moore

Chris Moore is an experienced apprenticeship and workforce development leader with 14 years’ experience across Group Training, VET, recruitment and employment services. As Managing Director of Connect Group Apprenticeships & Traineeships, he leads the development and delivery of workforce solutions across construction, infrastructure and technical trades. Chris has experience designing and implementing large-scale hyperscale data centre apprenticeship programs spanning electrical and HVAC pathways nationally. His combination of operational GTO expertise and direct data centre experience enables him to help employers build sustainable skilled-workforce pipelines for major projects and long-term operations.

Ashley Simmonds is an experienced business development leader with more than 20 years’ experience across technology, SaaS, financial services and workforce solutions. At Connect Group Apprenticeships & Traineeships, he develops strategic partnerships with employers across construction, infrastructure and technical trades, helping them build sustainable skilled-workforce pipelines through apprenticeships. Ashley has a particular focus on Australia’s growing data centre sector, supporting workforce requirements across major developments, from construction and commissioning through to long-term operations. His commercial background enables him to connect industry needs with practical, scalable workforce solutions.

Conor Cronin

Conor Cronin is an experienced operations and workforce professional with more than 10 years’ experience across HR, recruitment, apprenticeships and business. As Operations Manager at Connect Group Apprenticeships & Traineeships, he oversees apprentice recruitment and engagement, host employer partnerships, workforce planning and Group Training operations. Conor works across construction, infrastructure and technical trades to develop practical workforce solutions aligned with employers’ operational needs. He also supports Connect’s work in the data centre sector, helping clients build and retain the skilled trade workforce required across construction, commissioning and ongoing operations.
